In closing the Fifth Measina Samoa Conference at the Papaigalagala Campus  Wednesday, 1 September, 2010, the Vice Chairman and President of the National University of Samoa announced new policies governing the format of future university  conferences.

Professor Le’apai Tu’ua ‘Ilaoa Asofou So’o said the future Measina Samoa conferences, held every two years, will now be in the form of discussions in the Samoan language and that presentations will also be in Samoan.

He added that this will be in keeping with new developments in the curriculum which involve the compulsory nature of the Samoan language for all faculties and schools.

The Samoan Conference, on the other hand, held every five years, will be in the English language.

The other major change will be the promotion of papers which will discuss theological subjects.
