So’oalo Kuresa SO’OALO

So’oalo Kuresa is originally from the Village of Paia Samauga, Savaii and now residing at Vailele Uta/Tuanaimato Lepea. He is married to Fonomua Makerita Paulo (also a BCom Graduate of NUS). Kuresa enrolled for the Certificate of Commerce with NUS at Malifa and graduated in 1995. In 1996 he enrolled for the Diploma in Accounting and graduated in 1997. In 1998 he enrolled for the first Bachelor of Commerce Degree and graduated in 2000. He also inducted as a Registered Member of the Samoa Institute of Accountants (CPA) the same year..

It was always Mr So’oalo’s intention to continue studying aimed at becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) previously administered by the Samoa Society of Accountants. For family and financial reasons, full time study was never an option and the part time study mode suited him well hence his selection of the Commerce Program was an obvious choice due to his job requirements at the time as a Banker and looking at the overall job market in Samoa.

So’oalo’s BCom (Accounting) Degree from the NUS and becoming a CPA through the same Program at the NUS has noticeably placed him where he is today as the Assistant CEO, Corporate Services for Samoa Shipping Corporation Ltd after 14 years serving the ANZ Bank (Samoa) Ltd.

Apparently, the major challenge for Part time students is balancing time between work, studies and family and it is a journey that demands commitment, sacrifice and most importantly, HARD WORK.

Kuinimeri Asora FINAU

BAppSc (UQ) Australia

Kuinimeri enrolled at the National University of Samoa in 2004 and graduated with a BCom Management. She was the top Management Student in 2008. Kuini currently holds a Bachelor in Applied Science from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Kuinimeri is an ex-student of Samoa College and has 8 years of work experience in laboratory work, with six years working for the Samoa Water Authority. Areas of expertise and interest include quality management systems, food safety, new product development and research into food related issues. Other areas of interest include administration and human resource management. Kuini is proud to be a graduate from NUS, a place which made her where she is now, a Manager Food Technology Division at the Scientific Research Organization

Sala Theodore SIALAU TO’ALEPAI
BCom (Accounting) NUS

Sala graduated with a BCom Accounting from the National University of Samoa in 2000. He also holds other qualifications from overseas. He is currently working as a General Manager for Samoa Shipping Services Ltd.
