For pre-degree level studies in the Faculty of Science, students may enroll in either a Foundation Certificate in Science or a Basic Certificate in Science programme. The Basic Certificate in Science programme is open to students programme is open to students with a PSSC aggregate of 20 or better or to mature entrants with work experience.

The Basic Certificate in Science programme may be completed in one year or longer if necessary. The programme may be taken part time although courses will normally be held during the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm.
Students wishing to proceed to the Bachelor of Science degree programme are advised to take HMA010, HMA020 and/or HCS081.
