First NUS Science graduate gains PhD |

 | As the only recipient of a Bachelor in Science degree from the National University of Samoa in 2000, Dr Taema Imo says her early aspirations were simply to teach in the Science field.Recently back after six years study in Japan, Dr Imo is the first graduate from NUS to gain a PhD. “I never actually planned to do a PhD,” she said. But, after a short stint of teaching computers to students at St Joseph’s College, Dr Imo left Samoa in 2002 to take up a scholarship and pursue a Masters degree at the University of Ryukyus in Japan. | |
