The Faculty of Applied Science is the newest faculty at NUS comprising 3 departments and 2 schools.

The Faculty offers a Bachelor of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, as well as a wide range of vocational programmes for students with an interest in healthcare, engineering-related trades, horticulture or working on ships. The School of Nursing and Health Science offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in nursing and health science to cater for the pre-service and in-service needs of Samoan health professionals, including programmes in Medical Laboratory Science and Environmental Health. In the engineering fields, students use well-equipped workshops to develop practical skills in programmes in Automotive Engineering, Construction & Joinery, Fitting & Machining, Panel-beating & Spray Painting, Plumbing, Radio & Electronics, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and Welding & Metal Fabrication. Courses for future and current mariners are offered in Nautical Skills, Navigational Science and Marine Engineering, with an emphasis on safety at sea, while Horticulture courses cover all facets of crop production and protection.
