Welcome to the ICT Division webpage. The Division of ICT is comprised of three Units namely the Network Services, User Services and Multimedia Unit. ICT employs a total of 9 staff, 2 occupied Team Leader positions with one currently vacant plus seven Officers, Assistants & Trainees. The ultimate goal of the ICT Division is to provide ICT support to teaching, learning and research activities of both staff and students to support the mission statement of the National University in creating a conducive environment to superior learning, quality teaching, professional training and robust research that are receptive to the development of Samoa.

                                                                  ICT Multimedia Services

  • The Multimedia unit is responsible for the following:
  • Set up of data projectors and other multimedia equipment for classrooms as required. Student requests must all be channeled through staff members.
  • Audio and video support for special events such as seminars, conferences, meetings, graduations, etc.
  • Audio and video documentary support for research. (photography, video, sound recording, etc)
  • Teaching students directly in the use of Multimedia equipment especially for the School of Journalism.

User Services

• Ensuring all staff PCs and peripheral equipment are in good working order.
• Ensuring student lab PCs are in good working order.
• Setting up of Student network accounts
• Setting up of Staff network accounts.

Network Services

Back Office Systems – Administrative Systems
• Support the NUS Financial System, Attached which processes the NUS Staff payroll, student invoices, payments to creditors, and financial reports.
• Support the NUS Library System, Genie, which catalogues books electronically.
• Support the NUS Student Administration System, Artena (and Celcat and related Access Databases), which processes Student enrolment, exam results, and various reports.
• Email Systems – manage the NUS email system currently only available to staff.
• Network – manage the NUS network which allows staff and students to access the internet and staff and student file servers for information storage and retrieval.

Opening Hours

ICT working hours run from Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm, which is extended for when night classes are run or when there are classes on weekends requiring IT assistance.


ICT Offices are located in the Papaigalagala Campus, Mountainside Campus, Building B, 2nd floor.
Multimedia Offices are located in the Papaigalagala Campus, Mountainside Campus, Building J.

General Computer Access – for students.

Computers available for general access are found in the 3 NUS Libraries;
Papaigalagala Campus - Mountainside Library – Building E.
Papaigalagala Campus - Oceanside Library – Building I.
Motootua Campus – FOM Library.

Computer Labs

For specialized studies, there are 10 computer labs in the NUS Papaigalagala Campus.
ICT Computer Labs 1 and 2 are located in Building B, Mountainside Campus, 2nd floor.
ICT Computer Labs 4,5,6 are located in Building F, Mountainside Campus.
FOBE Typing Lab - Building K, Oceanside Campus.
FOA Journalism Lab – Maritime Building, Oceanside Campus
FOE Schoolnet Lab – Building E, Mountainside Campus
FOS Cisco Lab – Building E, 1st floor, Mountainside Campus
FOS Cisco Lab – Maritime Building, Oceanside Campus
*These Labs are reserved for the teaching of classes and opening times are dictated by the University timetable. Access to these labs is via a relevant lecturer or tutor of a particular class.

Wireless Hotspots

Wireless hotspots are available at NUS Library – Mountainside – Building E, and NUS Library – Oceanside – Building I. Payment to use these wireless hotspots are to be made at the library.
