Talofa Lava, Welcome to the Virtual Classroom, Access Anytime, Anywhere, Anyplace 24/7

Virtualclassroom

What is Virtual Classroom?

Virtual Classroom is a course management system (CMS) - a software package designed to help educators create quality online courses. Such e-learning systems are sometimes also called Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environments (VLE).

It was built entirely from free open source software & open source programming languages

virtualclassroom

 So What Does it Do?

Its a tool that allow students and lecturers to communicate effectively 24/7. The lecturer can dynamically upload lecture materials, post discussions, send private messages, create assignments, online quizes, reports etc, and students can view them and participate in a two way communication. No special software is needed, you only need to have an internet connection or NUS LAN and a browser. So whether you travel overseas, you can still communicate with your students through this system.

NUS Students

For Technical People

Virtual Classroom was created from Moodle which runs on Unix, Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, Netware and any other system that supports PHP, including most webhost providers. Data is stored in a single database: MySQL and PostgreSQL are best supported, but it can also be used with Oracle, Access, Interbase, ODBC and others.
