The Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held at the Aoa Conference Room on Monday the 3rd of April, 2019. Yazaki Kizuna Foundation was inaugurated by Yazaki Corporation to provide scholarships to those who are eager to contribute to Samoa’s development, and pursue an academic career by studying at the National University of Samoa.

Eligible students are Bachelor’s students who are majoring in Science or Business, and PhD students whose research topics aligns with the Samoan Government’s growth strategy.

The following students were awarded the 2019 Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarships:

  • Grandeur Leota (BCom)
  • Mavaega Leo Tuatau Faimasasa (BCom)
  • Melissa Filipo (BSc)
  • Ms. Leua Latai (PhD)

Each student was given the chance to say a short speech to acknowledge receiving the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarship award. Also, students from 2018 Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarship participated in the ceremony and shared their gratitude with how Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarship has helped them immensely with their education financially.

  • Eileen Williams (BSc)
  • Alva Tulimalefasi (BCom)
  • Mrs. Torise Sa’u (PhD)

The ceremony was closed with a group Photo of Officials from the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation, National University of Samoa Vice Chancellor & President and the recipients of the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Scholarship Awards
