Talofa and welcome to the Faculty of Technical Education at the National University of Samoa, formerly known as the Faculty of Applied Science. The name change was the result of a recent restructure which saw the Nursing program moved to the recently established Faculty of Health Science and the Horticulture program to the Faculty of Science.

The Faculty of Technical Education offers programs that prepare you for careers in the fields of Automotive Mechanic, Fitting and Machining, Panel Beating and Spray Painting, Welding and Fabrication under the Mechanical Engineering Department; Carpentry and Joinery, Plumbing and Sheet Metal, under the Construction Department; Electrical, Radio & Electronics, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, under the Electro Engineering Department.

All our programmes are designed to meet and exceed National Competencies Standards [NCS] and are accredited by the Samoa Qualification Authority [SQA].

Comprising of three Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) departments; Construction, Electro Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Technical Education represents a sampling of the trades and professions that foster strong international partnerships and effective community engagement.

With our state-of-the –art facilities and equipment, we are dedicated to finding solutions to today’s challenges. NUS Technical Education personnel practice global citizenship and effecting positive change all around. Technical Education leverages partnerships with industry and workplaces to enable relevance and further discovery of development needs.  We take pride in our ability to deliver skills and knowledge that contributes to economic growth through teaching and learning.
